Summers Night Sew- In: Hemingway Pouch
Join us for a fun and relaxed sewing class where you’ll create a stylish lined pouch with a perfectly angled zipper! Stefany will guide you step-by-step through making your first pouch—and once you’ve got the hang of it, you’re welcome to keep sewing and make as many as you like.
This project is perfect for quick gifts, so you might even get a head start on your Christmas list!
Feel free to arrive anytime after 5 PM—instruction will be ongoing throughout the evening. We’ll have cool treats to help you beat the summer heat, and you’re welcome to bring your dinner and enjoy a casual night of sewing and socializing.
Supplies: Individual copy of pattern. You can purchase the Hemingway Pouch Pattern HERE. Please see image below for requirements. Fabric, Soft & Stable, Zipper selection as denoted in pattern. Please refer to the pattern for directional fabric requirements. Also bring: ruler, rotary cutter, pins/clips, scissors, colorful thread for topstitching. **glue basting bottle for zipper tape placement- option but helps.
Stefany will also have her famous Bag Bar brought over from the shop to curate the perfect pouches! (including pre quilted fabrics, zippers, pulls and all the supplies!)
If you bring your own fabric please ensure your fabrics are quilted prior to class so you can create as many as possible! Let us know if you need yardage quilted for your pouches! We can help you get it done for the class!
Additional Class Information:
-Class participants will receive 10% instore purchases day of class.
-Studio will open 30 min prior to class start.
-Tardy/late arrivals greater than 15 minutes from class start time will not be admitted and no refunds will be issued.
-Must be 18 years or older to register unless otherwise approved or specified by the instructor in advance.
-No guests, children or pets allowed.
-Class is non-refundable. You may transfer your spot to another person by contacting the shop. If the shop/instructor cancels the class, you will be issued a full refund.
-By attending a class or event, you are acknowledging and agreeing that you may be photographed or recorded. Plain Janes & Co reserves the right to use any photographs or recordings taken during the event for promotional, marketing, or other purposes without any further consent or compensation.
Sewing Machine is required. You must be familiar with your machine including basic tasking: winding your bobbin, changing the needle, cleaning under the case. (keeping in proper working order problem solve). Plain Janes & Co staff can provide minimal assistance depending on the machine!
